Dalian Yixing Teapot & Teacups

Embrace the ancient elegance of our Handmade Yixing Zi Sha Teapot and Cups, a testament to a revered Chinese artistry dating back thousands of years. Crafted from the rare and precious “zi sha” clay, known as “purple sand,” this set originates from the renowned clay beds of Yixing in Jiangsu province.

The unique properties of zi sha clay make this teapot ideal for the gongfu style of tea steeping, where tea is savored in small, deliberate infusions to appreciate its fullest flavor. This method is particularly suited for brewing exquisite oolongs and rich pu’erhs, though certain black teas also shine in such an intimate and refined setting.

With each use, the unglazed interior of the teapot subtly absorbs the essence of the tea, gradually enhancing the depth of flavor. For this reason, it is customary to dedicate a Yixing pot to a specific type of tea, allowing the pot to season over time and perfect its character.

Whether you are a connoisseur of fine teas or a newcomer to the ritual of tea, our Yixing zi sha set offers more than just utility—it promises a journey into the soul of tea culture.

Details

To clean the Dalian teapot, simply rinse it thoroughly with warm water after each use, gently removing any tea leaves with your fingers or a soft brush; avoid using soap as it can be absorbed into the clay and alter the taste of the tea; let it air dry completely with the lid off to prevent moisture build-up or mold inside. For deep cleaning, occasionally soak the pot in hot water and a small amount of baking soda, rinse well and air dry completely to prevent mold.
